Meet the Doctor

Dr. Alan Singleton BSc., DDS

Penticton Dentist on a mission

After admiring the Okanagan area for many years, Dr. Alan Singleton moved to the area in 1992.  With a passion for providing better dental solutions for a better life for his patients and  to bringing 21st century dental procedures to a smaller community, Dr. Singleton bought a local practice in Osoyoos in 1995, and has not looked back. Since 2004 Dr Singleton has continued to work in Osoyoos as well as in Penticton at the Penticton Dental Centre.

Continuous Improvement

Dental techniques and treatments have come a long way in the last few decades. A great example of this is orthodontia—when was the last time you saw someone with a mouth full of silver and black braces? We know you want a dentist who is current and knowledgeable about new dental treatments and how they can help you.

All dentists should be on a continuous learning curve to better serve you. And Dr Singleton is no different. His patients expect that and they get it.

After all, would you trust anyone who wasn’t?

Dr. Singleton would be happy to tell you more about his background and education and answer any questions you have.

And unlike dentists in other countries offering ‘cheap dental health care and restoration work’, you can relax knowing the standard of education he has received is the best.

In the meantime, here is an overview of the continuing education and learning he has participated in:

  • Over 200 course hours of continuing education each year
  • Numerous hands-on, education intensive courses at LVI.
  • Graduate of International Straight Wire and Orthopedic Seminars, Inc., an organization known for providing unparalleled orthopedic training.
  • Highly trained and skilled in the discipline of Neuromuscular Dentistry, the treatment for TMD symptoms and bite-related problems.

Dr. Singleton’s Associations

They say you can tell a lot about a person by the company he keeps.  Dr. Singleton is in excellent company as an involved member of numerous professional organizations, including:

  • Canadian Dental Association,
  • College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia,
  • South Okanagan Dental Association,
  • American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry,
  • International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics, the International Association of Comprehensive Aesthetics,
  • South Okanagan Chapter of the Orthodontic Study Club.

Advanced Training

Dr. Singleton is a strong believer in the need for personal growth and is always pushing his educational boundaries.  He participates in over 200 course hours of continuing education each year, and has taken numerous hands-on, education intensive courses at LVI.

Dr. Singleton is also one of the only dentists in Southern British Columbia highly trained and skilled in the discipline of neuromuscular dentistry, which creates ‘better bites’ for patients who are suffering from headaches, jaw pain and Temporo Mandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ).  Incorporating procedures that create beautiful smiles and alleviate pain throughout the body, neuromuscular dentistry is the foundation for all of Dr. Singleton’s work, and he is continually expanding his knowledge of this leading edge aspect of aesthetic, restorative and orthodontic dentistry.

Dr. Singleton has two young children to keep him active.  He likes to spend his free time playing with his children.  Dr. Singleton’s activities include swimming, cycling, running, and skiing.
