Penticton Migraine, Headache, Jaw and Neck Pain Solutions

Migraines, headaches, sore jaws, neck and back aches. At Singleton Dental, we provide better solutions so you can have a better life. Chronic pain is a terrible way to live, in fact, we’d say it’s not a way to live–and modern dentistry can help you with yours. Today’s dentistry is about much more than improving the appearance of a smile or preventing cavities.

At Singleton Dental in the Okanagan, we can help relieve or eliminate your pain. The problem is your jaw and your bite are out of alignment causing you pain. And it can be fixed. Advances in the science of complete dentistry have taught us how to bring the jaw into a relaxed position to help alleviate years of pain and discomfort.

Neuromuscular dentistry finds a relaxed position for the muscles of the head and neck to place the jaw into an optimal position. so that your bite and your jaw are in alignment. Otherwise, your jaw muscles are working overtime to try to support a misaligned bite which is what causes the pain.  Twenty-five years of research and clinical experience have shown this to be effective in treating patients with head and neck pain.

Who is affected?

Temporo Mandibular joint disease (also known as TMD or TMJ) affects 75 million people at any one time.  It is a chronic degenerative disease that may take years to develop.  People who suffer from TMD have a structural imbalance in their jaw-to-skull relationship, caused by a bad bite.  This disease causes the following:

  • Alteration of the position of the tempromandibular joint by placing excessive pressure on the joint and tissues around them.
  • Twisting the jaw into a strained position.  This further affects the muscles in the face, back, neck and shoulders.

Dr. Alan Singleton at Singleton Dental in the Okanagan can help you to achieve a proper, balanced bite so your pain is reduced or eliminated and you can go back to living your life!
